ABC's Mistresses: Karen is pathetic

There are some actually good aspects to the show.  It really isn't about women wanting to be Mistresses.  It is about real people going through real things.  However, sometimes the characters make outrageously dumb choices.  This week, it's Karen again.

5 Reasons Why Many Guys Stay Single, or the Camel Test

I read this post on Diary of a Super Champ and I was like, what?  It was called "5 Reasons Why Many Guys Stay Single."  While it was all good advice, the Biblical example was off.  Why is the Camel Test relevant?

Get out of the friend zone - some advice for the single dudes.

Sometimes a guy in the friend zone has no one to blame but himself.  Yes, I'm talking to you who go around thinking you're a "niceguy."  There was a group of guys I was friends with in college.  I was open to dating some of them, but they never asked me out... I sort of got together with one of them, but, well, it was weird.

It's Dear Abby's turn to give online dating advice

A woman wrote in to Dear Abby to express her frustration with the online dating world.  And her advice was spot on!  So I'm going to go back through her advice and give my own opinions.

Stop fighting over the bathroom by getting a bedroom vanity

Recovering from surgery means I have been watching alot of TV.  Currently, some of my favorite shows include those design shows on HGTV - Home and Garden Television.  One of my gripes is that it's mainly about the home and not much on the garden.  One of the frequent (and very expensive) new things is that everyone in the family wants their own bathroom, or roommates feel cramped sharing.  But the real problem is not how many bathrooms or how large the bathroom is, but how the bathroom was intended to function.

I got married on the cheap

So friends, it happened.  My fiance and I got married.  Instead of going with a big wedding, we decided to go to the courthouse.  It was by appointment, hit all the legal points, and still made us feel special.  It also qualifies as one of the smallest weddings ever.  It was my husband, myself, my best friend from when I was 2, my parents, and his mom.

Sympathy for the Devil: Miscasting Elliot Rodger as a nice guy gone wrong.

There is a lot gone right with this article.  Please check it out!  I can sympathize with feeling rejected.  I recall becoming a little angry when I wanted to salsa dance with someone and they would tell me no because I'm not that hot, or because they didn't want to date me.  I just wanted to dance because I was doing it for exercise.  Oh well, those days are over for me with salsa dancing.  My point is that feeling angry or rejected doesn't always lead to shooting a bunch of people and that guys who consider something like this aren't nice guys at heart.

A Former PUA reflects on Elliot Rodger and male anger

This made me feel relieved that not all men are sitting in their rooms, writing manifestos, and planning on "going Elliot."  I understand it's hard not to sympathize with his feelings of being rejected.  But he is not you.  I hope we might learn the difference between an actual "nice guy" and one who will go ballistic when provoked.

Don't date a man who asks for nude selfies

Though this post has been out there for awhile, the kind of man who would ask for nude selfies can be particularly detrimental to a woman.  And the men who read the blog Chateau Heartiste might be best avoided.
